As the Belgians take direct action instead of watching and gathering intel. Two dead and one injured.

Expect this kind of thing to happen more and more in the EU as the gloves come off and Terrorists become fair game.

My first thought when I saw the news was that this would be the new modus operandi in some countries.

It is a risky strategy, though, as we saw with the UK riots a few years back, and with recent events in US cities. If it looks as though the police are targeting a community that community often fights back.

I do want the security services to be tough, but I do not want gunfights on the streets of the UK.

I feel the gloves must come off eventually.

Unfortunately when they do, the situation will do doubt get much worse for a time.
But, make no mistake, sooner or later it has to be dealt with in a decisive manner.
