Good morning Tuesday

Postby Ally » 05 Jan 2016, 07:16

Good morning. :)

We had some rain through the night but it looks set to be nice today.

A few things to do today then we're walking into town at 5pm to watch the Annual spectacle of the Eve of Kings Parade. :cute: :cute:

Lots of floats and the people on them throw sweets to the watching children (and adults! )

After this we'll find a bar (they'll all be packed!) and have a beer and a bite to eat.

This is the night children leave a pair of shoes outside their front door; if they've been good Papa Noel will leave gifts for them. ;) ;)

No point me leaving any out then!

Have a great day everyone. :D

Morning Ally, morning everyone :)

Have a great time Ally, it all sounds lovely :)

More rain here, and yet more forecast - it seems never ending :| It's so dark in here still, we need the light on  Rain or not, I'll be out later for a walk, probably up to Sainsbury's for milk and fruit, all the fresh stuff is running low as I did my big shop on Thursday last rather than Sunday. Becks is off to Cheltenham to the dentist's for a check up, I could go with her I suppose but the shops there are too tempting and I really need to rein in the non-essential spending a bit this month  :cute:

Will also be searching the house again for my missing bracelet, and ringing the hall where the WW's and zumba classes are held, just in case :(

Have a good day everyone xxx

Kaz...I know it's a long shot but perhaps call the bus depot and see if anyone has handed the bracelet in?

Is it possible for you to walk where you were yesterday?

A few months ago I was gutted as I'd lost an earring (from a gorgeous enamel pair that Osc bought for me the first time we met) and was convinced I'd never see it again.

Two days later Don and I traced the path that we'd walked the night I'd lost the earring and there, glinting in some grass by the footpath, was the earring! I was overjoyed.

Hopefully you'll get lucky and get your bracelet back. xx

Morning all

A lovely sunny morning for a change, which in turn means rather nippy. Usual work day for me; the main boss is coming back to London today, not sure which flight he's aiming for - it's either one landing just after 4pm or one landing after 8pm. Needless to say we in the office are all hoping for the 8pm one so we can all leave at a normal time :D :D

Ally, have a lovely day today. Would today be the day that you all wish each other a Feliz Navidad or is that tomorrow (or December?) I love the different traditions. Do you celebrate / exchange gifts both December and January?

Tomorrow is a public holiday in Germany as well and you have people from the catholic churches (think it's only catholic, but not sure :? ) walk from house to house to bless said house and occupants. Usually two adults and three children, with the kids being dressed up as the three wise men and each recites a poem and in return is given money and/or sweets - money to the church, sweets to the kids (sometimes also a bit of money).

Kaz, good luck with the bracelet hunt, I really do hope you find it x

have a lovely day all xxx

No :( A lovely man who looks after Northgate Hall is going to look carefully for me when he goes up there later, he was very kind! I called Sainsbury's, called the bus depot, have put it on Lostbox on Facebook, so that's all I can do really :?

I've scoured the house too. I found a biro and a wrapped toffee down the sofa LOL but no bracelet

Mick, the absolute sweetheart, said he will buy me another if I don't find it, but of course that isn't the point. The point is I've lost his lovely gift that he took such care to find for me, and I feel guilty about that! :(

Morning all, dreadful rain overnight, it has stopped at the moment but looks like there will be more. I want to get out for a walk so will wrap up and go in a while. I think the decorations will come down today, and I have a physio appointment at 4.30pm. No other plans for the day. Kaz, so sorry about the bracelet :( I hope it turns up. It's awful when you lose something so special. Can I suggest asking St Anthony to find it for you? Oddly enough, he rarely fails, no matter what your beliefs. Have a good day everyone :)
