eeewww this morning

The person sitting next to me on the train this morning was wearing a long black leather coat, and man did it reek of stale smoke... leather really absorbs smells and this one had done a good job of it. I have the same 'problem' when people have gone out to an Indian or Chinese (are the two I think are the worst) restaurant the night before and their jackets / coats have absorbed the food smells. At 7.45 in the morning it isn't a pleasant

Can people not smell themselves if their clothing stinks?

Ah, one of the unexpected pleasures of public transport - Guess that smell!

Smells are one thing.... mobile bl**dy phones are another.     The whole chuffing bus/train does not want to know that you are just passing the uni and will be home in five minutes, thank you, and just because you are some distance away from the moron you are speaking to does not meant that you have to SHOUT!

It's always amused (and sometimes annoyed) me when people shout when using their mobile phone
- presumably because they think it necessary because of the distances involved.

There's quite a lot of people who do it -- I hope I don't.

100% agree - I tend not to answer my mobile when it rings and I'm on the train; unless it's work. Some of the stories you hear from people - mind blowing how they don't mind sharing that in public. I remember a year or so back this guy was having all sorts of personal problems and discussing them so loud over the phone someone further down the carriage actually got up and told him to keep it down.

And not only people on mobile phones, but at times two people having a conversation so loud the entire carriage can hear. :D

No I don't think they can! :? All the smokers I have ever known were convinced that whilst other people might stink of smoke, they didn't! "Oh I only smoke outdoors" "Oh only a few a day, you can't smell it on me!" "I change my clothes so often, it never lingers."

It always did - I can smell a smoker a mile off :?
