After a nightmare of a journey, thick fog, and I mean thick
all the way up there, we got to Castro Verde and into the branch of our bank and were treated like royality
There was a bit of a moment, when the cheque wouldn't print, that had Grumpy and I on edge
but all went well. All of the staff came over and welcomed us and wished us Happy Christmas - lovely touch.
Met Tom up at the house and all was well, so down to the notary and they were as nice as pie
Did all the signing and stuff, handed over the cheque, paid the notary and then Tom. Grumpy and I had to go to Finances, to register us as the owners. That was done in about 20 minutes and the lovely man there also filled in a form for us to apply for an adjustment on the council tax, ie, we pay nowt for those 3 years
Then into the post office, to ask about a post box. Spoke to the lady there and she will ask the postie if there is a spare one, left her with our name, address and phone number.
Then we went back to the house, to shift out some of the stuff they'd left, which we don't want and to put some beer in the fridge
which is running on solar
So now we're back here and will finish off all the packing - but first, I'm going outside, to sit in the sun, with a beer
