Two Good Deeds

In the last year we have taken several parcels in for a young couple five doors up the crescent. They are both out working during the day. This is because one of the couriers also delivers to our house and our regular postman knows we are usually home when he is making a delivery.
On Sunday afternoon they brought us a big box of shortbread biscuits as a thank you. Been put with all the boxes of chocolates and biscuits.
This morning I went to the local computer repair shop. I had taken a remote control for one of our TV sets as it was not working. He said he had cleaned the inside and resoldered some of the terminals.
He could not test it as he did not have the TV. Came home and it is working as good as new. When I asked him how much, he said no charge as he did not know if it would work.
So tomorrow when we are passing we will give him a few pence so he can have a drink.
Wish everybody was like this.

It is good to hear that there are still some good, old-fashioned, decent people about.

Now-a-days, one seems to hear far too many cases of crime, bad manners and greed.

Most people are nice :)

Our next door neighbour came with a bottle of wine for us today, for me picking her up from the train yesterday :)

How lovely. I got a nice surprise today too, I was sitting in the hairdressers when the guy who owns the florist came in with an arrangement which the hairdresser's wife had ordered. There was some banter, then he said he would get his bit of hair cut (a quick run around with the razor!). When he was leaving he came up to me and told me to pop in on my way past as he had something for me, but then came back about five minutes later with a potful of hyacinths, azaleas and something else, I'm hopeless at plant names, all nice and Christmassy looking with decorations. He has been meaning to give us something for the house and just keeps driving by instead of stopping in to say hello so gave it to me while he saw me. I was thrilled, such a nice gesture.
