I paid €0.995 for diesel in Calais today. That's 72p per litre...
Somebody, somewhere, is making a killing.

He get 60:40 of the pump sale cost through tax.

Our fuel is pretty much the most expensive in Europe It never ceases to shock me, when we go to Corfu, to see that a little Island off the coast of a country which is in huge financial trouble can still sell fuel at a much cheaper price than us. It's the tax duty which, especially on diesel, holds back our businesses. How can we compete with other Europeans when they can move freight around so much more cheaply...?
