Now I can tell you!

We are going to the Grand Canyon and Las Vegas next June :Hi: :Hi: :Hi: :Hi: :Hi:

As some of you may know, we have been to the Canyon three times before, have done mule rides twice, and we both think it is the most amazing place in the world. We were vaguely planning to go in 2017, but we were talking over the weekend and thought that we don't know what lies ahead so why not see if we could go next year. We thought we might do the overnight mule ride but it was all booked out for most of the year  but actually that is ok, as it was soooooo fantastic when we did it that it might not be the same again (plus we will be 16 years older by then  ) and we will do lots of walking/hiking. It was a bit of a nightmare, first of all I had to phone (reservations office in Denver) about the mule ride. Then we decided to stay in the nicer hotel as we wouldn't have the cost of the mule ride and their website was playing silly beggars so I phoned again and would you believe it, I had been on just a few minutes when their whole system went down  Left it for a couple of hours, no luck with website. Tried again this morning a couple of times, website still not authorising my deposit. Finally rang again late this afternoon, and at last we got booked :D :D

So we go to LV on June 5th, to the Canyon on the 9th until the 13th then back to LV until the 16th, I don't drive in the States so it is easiest to get to the Canyon from LV.......plus Vegas is a lot of fun! Haven't booked flights or LV hotel yet, but will do that maybe tomorrow. Ok it is an expensive thing to do, but life is short and both of us, especially himself, always wanted to go back one more time. We always save money towards holidays and have the basic cost covered already.

Mr Osc was most impressed that I was able to produce all our stuff from our last visit 15 years ago, even after the house move I had kept it all :D

Nope...not interested in it! There are enough wonderful natural viewponts there and I thought it was a shame they built it! Plus going down to the Canyon floor on a mule is beyond scarey

Brilliant Osc, so pleased for you :)
As I'm sure you remember I love Las Vegas, and could still find my stuff from first visit in 1981, as well as last in 2001 :D
Although, not the 6ft long lion I won and brought back, I donated that to cousin's daughter ;) :D
Fabulous place :)

I'll settle for a donkey on Blackpool Beach ....

Sounds a fascinating holiday, Osc, but will you both be able to resist the lure of the Las Vegas casinos?
