Day out planned for Saturday - sad face

We wanted to plan an away day so I can use my recently acquired free travel, so we have decided to go to Belfast for the day on Saturday. There's a great market there which Miss Osc and I visited when we were there last year, but Mr Osc hasn't seen it. Then I discovered that John Torode of Masterchef fame is doing some demos there on Saturday so that gives the day an extra focus, and the market is walking distance from the train station. We will be able to eat at the market too, lots of different choices and plenty of stalls to browse. Looking forward to it :D :D

Have a smashing day Osc. :D :D

I spent a week in Belfast in the late 1980's but I'm guessing it'll be a little different now. :D

The market looks fab....enjoy! xx

Probably not going now, there are engineering works on the line and bus transfers between Newry and Belfast so it would be a bit of a faff and would take longer, so it looks as if we will be giving it a miss :( :(

That's a shame, Osc ...

But that is one seriously good travel deal you have over there 8-) - I take it (having googled) that you have two cards, a Public Services Card and a Senior Smartpass card, so you get free bus and train travel across the whole of Ireland including the North? That's far better than us oldies get over here. ENTCS card holders like myself don't get any free bus travel in either Scotland, Wales or NI, and I'm lucky that I get free rail in the West Midlands - many others don't get any rail concessions at all ....
