Sorry. Just had to get that out there!
Busy busy day - all my jobs done, bags packed, put in the car, car parcel shelf found and put in the car, filled up with petrol, dog dropped off at mums and all ready for when the girls and Mick get home for setting off to go to Watford ready for the Harry Potter weekend we have had booked since March.
And then the phone call comes from school.
S can't put any weight on her knee. Her knee is a little swollen. Can I come and fetch her.
I am so cross. She went to the office at lunchtime to tell them that her knee hurt and was quite swollen. They refused her request to ring me, refused her request for an ice pack, gave her a paracetamol and sent her away (bearing in mind that they know that she dislocated her knee in her dance class last Thursday and I had asked them to ring me if any other problems occurred) back to her lessons. During PE, (in which the PE teacher gave her a detention for refusing to take part) her knee gave way completely and then, after her having to be taken down to the office in a wheelchair, they decided to call me. I shall be calling her head of year on Monday to complain!
Mick has taken her to our local minor injuries department to see what they say. Fortunately she is already booked in with the physio on Thursday morning. Unfortunately she has a dance assessment coming up in about 3 weeks time which quite a large chunk towards her dance GCSE - one of the few GCSE's she was pretty much guaranteed to do well in!
I have run Harry Potter and they were fab. They can provide her with a wheelchair if she wants one or, if we decide not to go we need to ring them asap and they can sort out a transfer on our tickets. Sadly we won't be able to do the same with our Premier Inn booking but at least that's only £89 (thank god I didn't book two rooms).
