Mary Berry and me

I was watching the Mary Berry story last night and thoroughly enjoyed it
In a way my life was similar in the beginning.
My Mum and Gran were good cooks and i watched them and was able to cook
quite well when 9 or 10 years old.
She caught Polio and was in hospital a long time.
I got TB and was laid up for a year
When she went to work she demonstrated how to use electric cookers.
I used to demonstrate the use of Aga Cookers
She managed to get someone to finance her to get to France to study cookery.
I wanted to go to catering college (and had passed all the necessary exams) but my
father said they could`nt afford it and i should get a job to help the family finances
There ended the similarities
