Phone scam

I have just had a call about reducing the insurance on household appliances. I left the chap talking, but then handed the phone over to Mr Loz to listen and when he realised what had happened he hung up. I wasn't taken in of course, but it all sounded believable. I checked the number, and this is it.

Just beware.

Thanks Loz.

Tip: Do not deal with cold callers, even when they claim to be from reputable companies. For those in the know it is relatively easy to spoof a caller ID number to make it look as though their call is legit.

If you think that you might need the services being offered go online and do a search for a company you know exists and can offer you something the same or similar.

One I have had several times is --- Silence, then after about ten seconds a dulcet toned lady says "Good bye"

I get them for a new boiler, or insulation as well as checking my PC
Like I have said on another thread, one is a local number which does not accept incoming calls. So I am now using that one on web sites which ask for my home number.
