Those tablets a few of us bought...

Postby Gal » 12 Aug 2015, 07:36

I took mine to Ibiza recently, having not used it for some time, and when I plugged it in to charge, nothing happened :| I've tried it since at home and it's just the same, so essentially it's no longer usable.

Anyone else have any probs with theirs?

Mine is hit and miss too, sometimes charges but not always. Although since I got my new smartphone I don't bother with it much TBH

I had a problem with mine right from the start in that the charger it came with never worked; so I always used the USB cable to charge it. Same as you I hadn't used it for a while and wanted to charge it and just couldn't. Knowing that often the USB charge just isn't powerful enough to get the system started again I sent it up to Frank to see if he could charge it as he also had the same one; but he also had no joy and mine (and his that was faulty) went into the recycling bin and on their way to some place for refurbishment.

Ria is right, both of ours died. I reckon that they needed a daily charge as the batteries do not seem to have the capacity to keep them operational for more than a day. Once the battery is fully drained that appears to be it. I tried a few things from the Internet and even used a higher than normal amperage charger to try to kick them into life but to no avail. I eventually put them in the small electricals recycle bin.

Having said that they were a good introduction to the pros and cons of tablets, and for not much money.

Have to say my kindle is brilliant but I use it All day as my PC is upstairs
but I recharge it every night
And if I read a book needs to charge up more
But I do love it :D
Sat out side in Bridlington in brilliant sunshine :D :D :D

Ah so maybe not much of a bargain after all? :| Shame as I fancied using it as a kindle as well, but not got the chance to try that part :|

Recycling then?

I love mine too Saundra :)
I have a plain basic kindle with all my books on, plus the kindle fired hdx for everything else :)
The battery life is brilliant, I think.
