Talking of luggage

If - and it's still a big if - we get over to England next year, it really will be only for a few days. So really, no need for luggage, just a shoulder bag and a handbag for me.

BUT, I do need liquids (spray) for Gladys, should I have to remove and replace a back plate. I can normally keep one on for about 4 days, sometimes longer, but always have to have spares with me, just in case.

I was wondering if I got a letter from the doc - in Portuguese and English, stamped and all the other malarky it will probably need, if I could carry the spray in hand luggage? Seems such a pain to have to pay for a small bag.

The other alternative would be wipes, but again, not sure if they'd be allowed.

Any thoughts?

And please, please do not mention our visit on FB, for those who are friends - we'll only be seeing Julia and you lot.

would'nt surprise me if you had more of a problem coming out of UK-there are a lot of "jobsworths" to get passed

Ton, I am not sure that medical items are subject to the same checks as 'cosmetics' and stuff. You should be OK, but there must be some way to check before you leave.

Best thing to do Ton would be to check with the airline you're flying with - they do have different rules. Look on their website.

And any liquids up to 100ml in hand luggage are ok. Lots of them.

Once you've sorted that there should be no problem.

My mum flies Jet2 & Easyjet with various medicinal liquids but she's made sure of the rules first. xx

Thanks all.

I've looked at a couple of airlines and also checked on the IA support group. Think I'll be okay if I just take a couple of bags, pre-cut backings and wipes.

I can, apparently, get a card from one of the Glad bag suppliers and also a letter from my doc.

But as I said, it's the going out and being in England I'm more worried about than coming back. I always have a spare "wear once and chuck away" bag with me, in case of emergencies.

A small container of water and a couple of wipes should do it.

Now all I need to know is

when's this meet then???????

I think Vic means jobsworths who'll question what you're taking out Ton...stuff that wasn't a problem bringing in.
