This bugs me.

I am watching a programme on TV and the person interviewed is speaking in their own language - Japanese. The interpretation is spoken by someone speaking in English, but with a local accent. It is almost as alien and understandable as the original.
Why cannot the interpretation be in a form of English we can all understand? It is not an uncommon thing to hear.
