Mr Blackbird was on next door's roof singing his head off. Every time he stopped I tried, in a very amateurish way, to repeat his song. His turn, my turn, his turn.

Then he stopped, and I swear he looked daggers at me, then went off on one that lasted forever. Then he looked directly at me again and went off on another.

I have sheepishly come back inside and, as an apology, thrown some scraps of food out for him. :oops: :oops: :oops:

I do it too. For after years I used to sing out 'birdie, birdie, birdie, and I'm sure he used to sing it back. Must have gone on to a different roost now 'cos his song is different :cry:

Yes Wm, he does that whoop-de-whopp-whoop a few times, with variations, and you/Grumpy/Nanna/Bb think you're doing nicely...then he launches into something Pavarotti would need a few rehearsals for :lol:
