to going away for a couple of days, later this month :D :D :D

Staying in Ourique again, but going to a much nicer restaurant than last time, also meeting Sonia, from the social club, taking a few bags of books, up to the library in Ourique, so they can be used up there and also meeting some new bods :D

They're quite a drive away, but Hiho will be fine :D . Sarah and her husband are starting a yurt type holiday place, so we're off to visit :D Will take some photos and if Di or Kaz don't mind, they'll be on the photo board.

And I promise, when I get some of my dosh through, I'm gong to buy a new, all singing, all dancing lappy, so I can do it myself -this computer is getting worse  I couldn't even download a form this afternoon  :?

Looks and sounds like a fab trip Ton :)
Any and all photos more than welcome, will look forward to them :)

A laptop's a lovely idea, but overall they do have more problems than desktops, so given where you are etc., it may be worth looking at a new pc?
Hopefully someone with more tech knowledge will help x

Maybe as ours was Ton, a decent pc but not enough bells and whistles, ie memory etc?
Can you manage to post the basic details of it - memory, version of this that and the other, for Wm and Co to comment on? x

That's a foreign language to me Kaz

I might just take it down to Flavio and let him sort it - he built it for me, years ago.

It's just a smallish touchscreen laptop, I can use either the keyboard or the screen itself. It's never given me any hassle, very reliable, so might be a good alternative to a big PC I was thinking but just a suggestion ;)

I hope Flavio can sort you out 8-) :D

Ton, the PC, if built 'years ago', is probably in need of a few upgrades - tech moves on so quickly these days. It might even need 'gutting' and starting again... Flavio will know and should be able to advise.

Getting a laptop is a personal decision depending on what make and spec you want. Mine is a five year old Acer Aspire and the only thing I have done to it is update the firmware (a geek thing ). If you do go the lappy route you have the advantage of its portability, if that's desired, but if you intend to use it mostly as a desktop, as I do with mine, I would suggest you get an external keyboard and mouse as well as a sitting it on a cooling plinth. Another tip with laptops is to give them a gentle 'hoover' at least once a month to stop the insides getting clogged with dust.... and things. :o
