Morning all

Up extra early as we're off to visit mother. It was her 89th birthday on Thursday so we're meeting up with eldest daughter and brood for a little celebration at the CH. Tomorrow it's E's three monthly check up so fingers tightly crossed he gets the all clear again.

Early days to get excited but yesterday we offered on a bungalow, the wife's away so we should get an answer Monday. We've left room to haggle and they're very keen to secure cash buyers so hopefully we can get it all tied up by the time we get back home. Let's hope this time things go smoothly.

I'll have my tablet with me so should be able to keep in touch. We'll be back sometime Tuesday evening.

Well I think it might be brightening up here a little The forecast for the coming week is a lot warmer and sunnier - it has been freezing here this week

The usual sort of Sunday here, food shopping a bit later and then if it stays fine I think I'll get on with resanding and reoiling the garden furniture. I bought the teak oil recently, but it hasn't been warm or dry enough really to get out there and do it We also have a George Gently and a Montalbano on the iplayer........

We're off down to people watch - it's the monthly car boot in the village - for a while, then we'll come back - slowly - to watch the GP and then do some more people watching with a beer or three, sat on the front step

Salada for dinner - will possibly be too hot to have a bbq

Miss Osc and family are coming for their belated Easter Sunday lunch today, so I had better get busy tidying around and setting the table while Mr Osc works on the food. Nice, warm and sunny here at the moment
Becky and Dean (granddaughter and partner) moved into
their house this weekend so we have been invited to have
a look.
They never told anyone until they were definitely in as they
have had 2 sales fall through at the last minute
The last time was the seller telling them he owned the house
but Becky searched and found that the council owned half so
they pulled out immediately but lost £800 that they had paid
for searches etc.

Morning all.

I'm recovering from yesterday. A day in Sheffield with the laydeez. Full Monty, lots of wine, good food and great company.

And I bought new running shoes. Gait analysis - running on the treadmill in the shop after a bottle of wine was a giggle.

And I told Mick they were a bargain at £45. I just didn't mention that was per shoe.

Clearing up quite nicely here after a very dull start.

Lazy start for me but will shift soon as eldest is coming
We're going out for lunch which will be a nice change. Maybe a walk to the pub that does a Sunday carvery but will wait and see what sort of thing he fancies

Debih was it wise to have your gait analysed after the vino?? You'll have to drink now before every run Joking aside I think it does make sense to buy good shoes for running, even Mick used to spend on his running shoes back in the day and he's not one to splash out unnecessarily

Well I was wrong, it is still flipping cold out there and has clouded right over, serves me right for putting a wash on Still I got the food shop done, and I bought a tiny weeny chiminea for citronella tea lights - to ward off insects if it's ever warm enough to sit outside (:P ) It's rather nice, will sit on the table out there, and matches the big one we have on the decking Also bought a string of solar lights to hang in the trees behind the deck Nothing like being optimistic is there?

Oh and we ate in the café at Morrisons, Mick had a chicken and ham raised pie with mash and veg, and I had chicken salad - that means no cooking today - hoorah!!!!

The geraniums and fuscha have flowers on I do like an instant garden

Well, that was lovely!
This pub has done a bit of experimenting with their menu but seemed to have settled down now (according to tripadvisor ) and I hope they stick with it
Choice of roast beef, lamb, pork or turkey, with all the stuffings/sauces etc and 7 or 8 lovely veg as well as roast potatoes and Yorkshires.
You choose small, medium or large; we all had medium which was more than enough and was £7.95 each, brilliant value
I didn't have a Yorkshire as I prefer more room for veg but they were ginormous

The sun's out here Kaz but although it's lovely it's not all that warm, we all put jackets on to walk to the pub and discounted the other choice which would have been a nicer, longer walk but we'd have taken Minnie and sat outside. Really not quite nice enough for that, but it's getting there
