Worth complaining!

You might remember the story about the men delivering beer to the pub next door, who damaged the corner of the wall, and my subsequent complaint to the company. All last week I heard nothing, so I rang Heineken on Friday and heard back from the transport manager of the delivery company, who said that he had spoken to the delivery men and had I heard nothing from them. I mentally shrugged my shoulders and thought that was that. Today one of the delivery guys rings the door bell, freely admits the damage (which has been repaired), apologised and presented me with a gift of two bottles of wine - plus he promised to be more careful in future and we parted on amicable terms :D

I am impressed, I really wasn't expecting an update like this one.

Good on him for apologising in person.

Interesting, Osc, tantamount to an "admission of liability" ...

Glad it was two bottles of wine and not two bottles of Heiniken lager .... :D

How lovely to hear such good news.

There must still be some good things from the past that have survived.

Di knows that the wine is wasted on us non-drinkers   but I suspect between Miss Osc, SIL and my sister, it will not go unused ;) ;) Yes Aggers, it is nice to know that, and he wasn't just going through the motions either, he was friendly too and not apologising begrudgingly (he wasn't Irish, most of them wouldn't have bothered  )
