We were going to have a nice healthy salad with baked potatoes and cold roast chicken.

But after my horrible day I want comfort food so we are having chicken slop with crusty bread and L is having macaroni cheese.

Di's Jambalaya, well not Di's exactly but it's the recipe that she posted a while ago. Joe's been nagging for it for the last week.

Lol Jo I did used to make almost the same before I found that actual recipe, so that's fair enough :D

Chicken. We cooked an M&S meal deal one on Sunday, Bb had some last night - D and I went out and had chicken - so tonight it's more chicken.
I think I'll do jacket pots and coleslaw, Bb won't be home till about 9, which is why I had to get home when I did.

I have a bowl of dough rising so that I can make a pizza. It could be pepperoni or ham, tomato and mushroom.

Debih is probably a bit drung following the day she's had so I'll try to help. A 'slop' up here is a one pot all-in-one kind of stew, so it will likely be bits of chicken with chopped vegetables in a soupish base. It is a bit like another favourite, corned beef hash, but a bit runnier, hence the crusty bread to clean the bowl.

Ha. You are wrong WM on both accounts. Well, you are sort of right on the slop front.

I am not drung. Tiddly yes, drung no.

Chicken slop is a family favourite. A sort of chicken fricasse.

Make a roux (butter and flour) and add milk to make a white sauce. I have no idea of quantities. Add cooked chopped chicken and frozen peas. If you want to be fancy you can add sliced mushrooms, frozen sweet corn, chopped onion, diced cooked ham. But we like it plain - just chicken and peas. Serve with chips or bread.

Good old chicken slop.
