Good and bad NHS

I truly cannot complain. I saw my doctor around ten days ago as I have been in a great deal of pain. I was due for a mammogram (that I had) but in the meantime my doctor had contacted my Oncologist stating that she was concerned about my health and weight loss.
Within days my Consultant contacted me stating he wanted to see me within three days rather than in a months time as previously arranged. He is marvellous, down to earth and following examining me he stated that he wanted me to have a bone scan as suggested by my GP. Keeping my fingers crossed that all is well. I certainly cannot complain about our surgery, if one has an appointment for 10 a.m. one is seen at that time. Excellent doctors, excellent caring staff. Great Oncologists in the Macmillan unit we are so lucky. However it is a different story in our adjoining town. the surgery that cost 3.4M is not fit for purpose built outside of the town making it difficult for people to get to it., "The doctor who fought for it to be built has "resigned"!!! and is earning £1,000 a day working in his profession in a supermarket.
Hundreds of patients in limbo. a two hours or more wait to see a doctor, three doctors are remaining to care for the population of the town, all the others have left." talk about wasting money"

Kate honestly don't worry over much about the bone scan. If there's anything there, most likely all they do is give you an infusion every month of 'bone juice', just the same as they give for osteoporosis, to strengthen the bones (((x)))

Thanks every one for your loving good wishes. I know I am not alone regarding hospital treatment, and I send every one my loving thoughts for their welfare. Saundra you are going through the mill sorry to learn this and other dear contributors to VV.. I am lucky I have a brilliant Oncologist "I just hate hospital's" It is worse for the children who continually worry.. I am somewhat philosophical what's to be will be and at 81 I have lived a full life. Every year is a bonus. ;)

I know you hate hospitals Kate, but hope you see that it would be treatment to help with pain and to protect your bones (((xx)))

Did mean to say that radiotherapy works brilliantly for pain too, and is really, really simple - takes all of about 2 minutes as you know from before and none of the side effects xx
Plus of course taking whatever painkillers you're offered ;)

When is your scan?
It's not scary at all btw (((x)))
