Just leaving work and my phone buzzed to tell me I had a voicemail. It was school who rang about 20 minutes before I got the message to say that L had hurt her arm. A friend had twisted it behind her back.
As it was the same one that she fractured and she was complaining that it was really hurting I thought it best to take her down to A&E (we have a minor injuries department at our local cottage hospital so it isn't a particularly traumatic experience. Unlike A&E at the main hospital where you can be waiting for hours to be seen).
The nurse decided that it was probably just sprained and decided that it didn't need xraying - mainly because their xray department only opens on a part time basis and was shut. Which would have meant a trip to the main hospital A&E department!
So it is all bandaged up and we were told if it was still hurting on Wednesday to go back (xray is open 9-5 on Wednesdays!).
This morning she says it is still hurting and that she is getting pins and needles along her thumb and wrist - just like she did when the scaphoid was fractured......................
