Good morning Friday

Morning all. Blanket of snow here although the main road is currently open. We are expecting a huge dumping of snow later - we have an amber alert from the Met office with over 10cm expected.

The radio is talking about an earthquake that happened overnight in the East Midlands - I obviously slept through it.

No big plans for me today - walk to school this morning and then home to potter about and probably sit in front of the fire.

Keep warm everyone.

Morning Debih, morning everyone :) Snow here too - we are right on the edges of the red warning in South Wales which is for 20cm, and an amber warning which is 10cm :? I'm hoping the fact that Gloucester itself is in a valley will help protect us! Still we are ok here, Mick works from home as you know, and B's college told the students yesterday that it was closing so we will all be indoors safe, and warm! I hope you will all be able to do the same.......

No escaping my ironing today then! :?

Take care everyone xxxxxxx

No work today..I've settled for Monday-Thursday shifts. :D :D

Going for a bike ride with Herman the German (the last time I was due to go mum was taken poorly.)

No doubt my bum and thighs will hurt later..I must flatten these hills.

Enjoy the day everyone and stay safe and warm if you have snow.

Vibes for Loz and hope you're feeling a bit better Saundra. xx

A bit of snow here. The main roads are clear but it is still lying on the pavements. On the local newspaper web site they have said there could be 10 inches of snow here today. We should be going dancing this afetrnoon but we will probably stay indoors.

Morning :)
Kaz sadly I've been thinking the ironing might be beckoning. There's not much at all, but amongst it is a pair of Bb's trousers that he chucked in the wash and turned out to be dry clean only...and the hem's come down too. I think they'll be fine but will need a bit of careful treatment with a water spray and coolish iron...then sewing up

Bread's baking, and there's soup left from yesterday so a nice lunch to look forward to :)
Hugs for Loz
Di

Morning all :D

We're snowed in, about 4" now and blizzard conditions out there. Mr.J put chains (PO supplies ;) ) on his boots and walked round for the papers earlier and the main road was already jammed. A client was due at 10 and got turned back because of the snow, even her boss told her to stay home. She's just rung to say it's that bad she couldn't get her car back on the drive as it's on a slope.

It means the plan to drive down to Kent for a weekend with our grandsons is out of the window :( Good news about the hotel though, we'd booked on a special prepaid nonrefundable offer, but because we're regular guests they've agreed to let us push the dates forward to next weekend :D Also been on the phone to youngest daughter 'cos it means we're now not going to see E before his 5th birthday so he won't have his card in time - no point posting it as there's no guarantee it will get there by Tuesday anyway. We've arranged to skype on the day instead. Fingers crossed the weather clears up by next Friday so we can take his pressie down and have a belated birthday tea with him.

Looks like we'll be spending this weekend indoors and raiding the freezer.

Hope you all have a good day and stay safe.

jen x

Morning all, lots and lots and lots if snow here!

I've been to the gym, I did 75 minutes on the treadmill, walked two miles home, came in and changed my boots and then walked another two miles around the common with Billy - he loves loves LOVES snow
I then thought I'd come home, get a nice hot shower, some dry clothes, make some lunch and some fresh coffee and have a nice quiet afternoon, maybe catch up with some TV I've recorded - and then I heard my text alert, read it and all plans for that nice quiet afternoon are off as the boys are on their way home from school as they decided to close at 11
I'll be glad when they're home though, and John too, as the roads aren't good at all, not even the main A34. I'm hoping John will be able to leave early.
