First the good news....I don't have Meniere's
Now the bad news...I'm deaf in my left ear
Lots of hearing and balance tests were done and a history taken. Then saw the consultant and he said that for some reason I have become suddenly deaf and it may not recover. He can't be sure. So bloods taken and maybe they will do an MRI to rule out other nasties, but it looks at the moment like I have this

I'm to take steroids for the next 2 weeks to see if that improves things, but there are no guarantees. I go back in 2 weeks to see the main man and see how things go. My balance is a bit pants at the moment, but as my right ear is ok it will compensate and I should be ok there. Tinnitus may continue, no one can say for sure.
Anyway, I can cope with the hearing loss in one ear, but it is really odd because while I can hear ok with the right ear, if there is any extra noise from chatting or washing machine, kettle (those sort of noises) I can't hear a thing. One day at a time for now, but it is a shock to think that I could suddenly go deaf more or less over night
Thank you all so much for your kind thoughts and good wishes xxx
