I made full use....

....of the first day of my holidays yesterday.
We went into Malaga for the day - and had the best time ever.
We walked miles along the coast and had lunch at a chiringuito.
Carried on walking along the east side including a stop on the beach for us both to have a go on a zip wire and me to climb up a monkey frame thing.
Walked back towards the centre and as the sun was setting we sat at a bar right on the beach - it was beautiful.
The Christmas lights came on as we got nearer to the centre and as we approached the cathedral Don just happened to look up and see lots of people right at the top of the Malaga Palacio Hotel.
I remembered Jacob telling us a couple of years ago he'd gone into the hotel bar for a drink and had been able to go to the top and see the views.
So....we go into the hotel and up to the 15th floor, come out through some glass doors and there, right in front of us were the most AMAZING views of Malaga!
The roof terrace goes right round the whole top of the hotel.
There's an outside bar (we had a drink and took in the views. It would have been rude not to. )
Leading on from the bar there's a restaurant that was absolutely packed.
There's a swimming pool up there too - but the best bit was turning the corner, and there, almost within touching distance was the cathedral.
It was fantastic to see it so close up.
We got the lift back down with a group of German tourists one of whom was a dead ringer for George Clooney!
Next was taking in the Christmas lights and a mooch through the night market - I bought some earrings and a scarf for a friend.
The plan was to then get some retail therapy but we'd packed so much into the day, it was 9pm and a bus was due, the shopping mall is right next to the station - but the lure of Paco's was too great so back to our town we went.
We'll go back in on Tuesday and hit the shops.
A fab, fab day.
