I love them myself, but am not happy as Fraggle hates them, poor boy :( Tonight is bad enough but tomorrow there is a big display at the school on the back of us, and that will be worse :) Am thinking of getting him an adaptil spray or tablets :?

My daft dog is standing in the window watching them....

That might be a good idea for poor Fraggle, Kaz. I hope something will help him.

I love them too. The kids still laugh about me when we went to California a few years ago though. We'd had a long flight so after checking into the hotel, which was across the road from Disneyland, we got something to eat and then all flaked out on the beds. Loud bangs woke us up and I was convinced that, being in the Los Angeles area, we were in the middle of a shooting and I was ready to dive for cover.
And then John realised it was only around 9pm and therefore it was Disney's spectacular firework display

I am a big kid, really, as I love them, but I was reminded of one of my fears with what happened to Claudia Winkleman's daughter, and that is people near fireworks and fires dressed in 100% man made fibres - plastic.

I always made sure that me and mine wore cotton, wool, or leather/sheepskin...... I hope that everyone we all know stays safe this bonfire season.

One of my teachers at school, a lovely man who taught geography, was playing with fireworks as a boy and blew his hands off. He had hooks instead of hands. :(
And there was a boy in my year, a friend of my cousin, who threw an aerosol can onto a bonfire and suffered burns to his face and upper body. He was left with horrible scars but it could've been much, much worse.

Kaz, if you can get the adaptil then do; but another thing to try is regular rescue remedy. Rub a few drops in the palm of your hands and then rub them - in Fraggle's case - probably the inside of his ear where there is the least fur so it's absorbed into the blood stream quicker. I know with cats you generally rub over the ear but Fraggle's are probably a bit too hairy.

Or if you can get from somewhere like Holland and Barrett - valerian drops. They really do work.

Thanks Ria, he's definitely upset - as I just posted on the random thread he's peed in the kitchen this afternoon :( :( Mick is going to nip up to PAH later when he's finished work. I would have gone myself but I had to go to Cheltenham :?

I only have RR lozenges, not the drops, but will get some tomorrow xxxx

Poor boy :-(

It's probably too late for this weekend but what about buying somthing like this: http://www.vetuk.co.uk/dog-training-aid ... tion-p-787

apparently it works on building up the noise and the noise volume so they actually become totally used to it. They are meant to be good
