Do you want fries with that?

That's a phrase which Tom will have to practice seeing as he's landed himself a part time job at McDonalds

He had an interview last night and was offered the job tonight, he has to go for an induction on Monday night. We have three branches all on the outskirts of the town, although the one he'll be at is closest to the town centre, and his girlfriend has a job at one of the others.

No doubt it'll be hard work, he's aware of that as one of his friends has worked there for the past year. He's not sure how many hours he'll be working yet, they have to submit a list of hours that they're available to work and there's always the option to transfer to another restaurant when he goes to university should he like it.

Jo that's fantastic :D One of our nephews - the one who is doing a similar course to B at Nottingham - has worked P/T for them for years now. The job is in his home town, but they still give him shifts in the uni holidays :) They seem like decent employers to me 8-) :)

Well done Tom :)

Great news for Tom, Jo, he should be fine.

I never eat there, but my niece worked there when she was doing A levels, and she loved it. They also loved her and kept promoting her, even though she was only PT. She could ring up at any time to get a shift and if one wasn't available they would try and get her in at another Maccies.

Well done him - it's so hard for kids his age to find jobs now-a-days. And agree - phew it's at a different branch to the girlfriend ;)
