Ally and Ton

As you both live in a hot climate I'm guessing you use lots of sunscreen. I've got 2x200ml tubes of Piz Buin 30F once a day left over from last year (still well in date) but I know that's not going to be nearly enough for a month in Barbados. It's a bit early in the year here for all the usual offers, even Boots don't have their equivalent in stock yet. Annoyed with myself really, I'm usually better organised but in fairness we did go through an awful lot with two trips to Egypt last year.

Can either of you recommend a good budget/reasonably priced high factor sunscreen ?

Jenni

When we lived in the UK and were going on holidays I always bought Ambre Solaire sun products.

And I've continued to buy it over here..excellent protection and I love the smell!

Factor 30 for the body and 50 for my face..and always the spray. Much quicker and easier.

Sorry I can't be more helpful Jen. x

I tend to use the supermarket own brands.... they have to conform to the same standards as the expensive stuff.

I just had a look at what I have in my cupboard and none of the bottles I have seem to have an expiry date, do yours?

I very seldom use use any  except in the height of summer and even then, I tend to go with the supermarket stuff. Normally factor 8 or 10

But for somewhere like Brabados, defo go with Ambre Solaire and a high factor too.

Sorry can't be more helpful xx

I used Ultrasun on my face and body when we went to Ecuador and although expensive they offer first class protection as well as non-oily and moisturising at the same time. Brilliant on my face as I didn't need to use moisturiser as skin felt so smooth.

Not really expensive as you only need to apply once a day and have to use very little.

Some reviews in John Lewis:

Jen, if you have a Home Bargains near to you they stock branded sun cream at bargain prices and my local one has quite a large selection all year round.

How about Avon Jen, their sun protection products usually score really highly in testing

They are also pretty good mosquito repellents! I use to get it for my daughter when she was younger.
