We've moved!

Yesterday evening we moved into our temporary home, a local holiday let we have taken for a week within walking distance of the house. It's very comfortable and homely, with everything you could need (including wifi ). Thursday evening, yesterday and today have been busy, Thursday evening we finished clearing out the kitchen cupboards, him packing, me wiping the shelves. Actually we did loads on Thursday evening and I had a very weepy episode when I got into bed, a combination of tiredness and emotion. We woke yesterday morning at 5.30am but I absolutely refused to get up until 7am when we went for a gorgeous walk, it was like being away on holiday with a beautiful sunrise, a little early morning mist and already warm. We moved as much as possible out of the house yesterday and brought what we needed for the week to here. Then he took himself off to play golf while I sorted out our phone (we want to keep the number so there's a process to be followed). We went out for an early meal (well we are on our holidays ) and Mr. Osc was asleep on the couch by 9.30pm, so I packed him off to bed and followed him around 10pm.
Woke on and off during the night, strange surroundings and noises, and up quite early again this morning. Ourselves and my sister cleaned the house and kept finding more stuff to pack up but we made such good progress that we have done everything that needs to be done including reading the gas and electricity meters, Mr. Osc has turned off everything, and basically we don't need to go back at all. Left the new owners a bottle of wine and a nice card to welcome them to their new home. Miss Osc called in too.
When we got back here, sis and I went out to buy something for lunch, and while we were having that, Miss Osc and family popped in (their holiday let is literally a minute's walk away ), Mr. Osc has now gone for a nap and we will have a nice quiet evening at the start of the next stage of all of this. Things are going well in Miss Osc's house and it's all pretty much on schedule for us all to move in next weekend. Tomorrow we might take a complete day off, there is an afternoon dance on in Wicklow, so we might go out for lunch and have a few hours of dancing, I think we need the break - although I have to say it's rather nice just sitting here at the window looking out at the harbour and all the people coming and going in the glorious weather.
How come it's so much fun doing houseworky stuff when it's not your house? I've made scones this afternoon, have a wash on, and even enjoyed washing up
