well let's have the same rule applied to the teaching staff as well--after all should'nt they lead by example

My youngest grandson has just started school - and has to wear a uniform

And had homework at the week-end

Over here, maybe the same as where you are Vic, the little ones all wear a uniform, of sorts, along with a hat and most6 of them have sunglasses too.

As soon as they go to the next school up - infants? - then the uniform is forgotten.

And the teachers?

Nada.

Apart from hi-viz jackets when they take them out somewhere

we have a school about 100m from us,kids up to age 11-no uniform, only private schools here seem to have uniforms

the teachers come to the Pastelaria (cake shop) in our building for their mid-morning/afternoon coffee break

teachers in hot pants !

teachers in belts -sorry short skirts

and the teenagers going to school? looks like a fashion show

I remember going to a posh school, having to wear a uniform and also money belt, which was very good at hoicking the skirt up, above the knee

Although in saying that, we couldn't do it until after assembly, as they actually checked the length with a ruler, sometimes

Oh, and straw boater type thingies in the summer and felt hats for the winter
