Electricity charade ..

Postby TheOstrich » 22 Aug 2014, 09:52

Yesterday I received a six monthly bill from my supplier, one of the big six, (or however many there are these days).
"Your personal projection for the next 12 months - £507"

Today I received an annual electricity summary from the same firm.
"Your personal projection for the next 12 months - £231"

Same tariff, same everything. This is the electricity company being more transparent, at the Government's request.
Basically - clear as mud!

So what are you going to do with the missing £276?

it would buy a few rounds of drinks.

I am with one of the smaller suppliers who have reduced my payments. Excellent service if I have a query and can send meter readings using the internet

Looking back to look forward!

I suppose "projection" sounds more professional than "guesstimate".

I will use the gas and electricity I need to use as and when it is needed.

I am with Ovo recommended by Which. Nice surprise when they told me I was £350 in credit, paid 250 of that into my bank account.
Superb company superb communicators when and if needed.

Blimey I wouldn't have been at all pleased if they'd had that much of my money, I can't afford to pay more than I should

We pay for exactly what we use, monthly - no idea why all gas and electricity isn't done the the same way :?
