I've got two other chilli plants, one is called Apache (http://www.sowchillies.co.uk/chilli-see ... seeds-agm/) and the other I've lost the label so can't remember what it's called or if it's meant to stay green or also turn red - oops

We have a lot of chilli plants - just not a clue what they're called, apart from the Angolan ones. Red, orange, yellow, small rounded ones and then we have the small green/red ones - now they are hot

Wasn't sure if we could eat them black or not, but will give them a go

Grumpy saves the seeds and we use them for next year. I'll let him have a look at those web-sites.

Our little yellow ones are cayennes, I tried the tiniest piece on the tip of my tongue and almost stopped breathing

Just had a look at the sites and although ours are similar, our chillies stand up, not hang down.

Must be the weather

Our yellow ones are quite mild, by comparison to the rest, the orange are hotter and the red are hottttttt

I did the same as you Kaz (ie that tongue tip test) with a black chilli (with the seeds still in) and it was hot. I used one last night to cook with and removed the seeds and it really wasn't spicy at all

I'm definitely going to do the same........
