what a weekend

:D
A colleague has house in Haslemere; turns out it's quite huge with a ginormous garden, tennis court and 10metre pool - just wow. Anyway back in January a group of us were out for a drink and (as you do) said it would be nice to have a summer party there - which was this weekend.

Admittedly Chris does have a lot more money than most of us, but still - he was incredibly generous and provided not only the amazing venue but also paid for all the food and drink for 17 of us - just fantastic. Another colleague Hanna and I were the co-hosts with Hanna (who loves her food) in charge of sorting out the food, ie menu planning, ordering, cooking etc and I was in charge of logistics, ie invitations, who was sleeping where (12 of us stayed over), the bedding ie buying it all (well Chris paid as he didn't have anything for the house really and will be needing it going forwards), getting it all washed and beds made up before guests arrived etc....

Most of the guests left just after breakfast which left four of us to finish the cleaning and tidying with the aim of leaving about midday'ish. But the day turned so beautiful that we ended up staying for a late lunch, games of croquet and generally just chilling and only headed homewards bound at 6pm.

Just such a perfect weekend - I'd love to rewind the clock and do it all again

Sounds lovely :D

And you'll have the memory for when it's nasty weather and you can just re-wind it in your mind xx

That sounds fantastic meriad :D
What a lovely way to be, happy to share and let others enjoy your good fortune :)

And also sounds very much like the house a friend of mine used to live in - although I do know there are quite a few like that in Haslemere :D
I have lovely memories of summertime after-pub swims :)

wouldn't it be odd Di, if this was the same house

My colleague bought the house back in 1996 (I think he said it was) when he was still married to his ex-wife. They had (have) one daughter who recently got married

I wouldn't know it in 1996, it was much longer ago :D

And because I was always taken there, I've no idea exactly where it was either :D
It was a lovely old house, the pool was down the garden :)
The friend's father I think held a Guinness world record for having written the most maths text books, or something like that :D
