Vocal Voices

Him and her (the married couple) are sat on the neighbour's TV aerial and he, the interloper, is on the chimney pot. Mr and Mrs B are not happy and boy are they letting him know it!

He's either the son who has not found a girlfriend/wife and they want him to leave home, or he is just trying to muscle in on Mrs B......!

No idea what's really going on but you know at dusk the Mrs gets really vocal, and then so does he - we imagine it's her telling him it's time to go home, and would he bring some bread, and he says, no, you said you'd get the bread and I'll bring the cheese...or whatever
Or he's saying he's going to have another pint (or equivalent) with his mates, then he'll be home in his own good time
Or she's asking what the kids are up to, and he's telling her to stop babying them, they're just fine on their own now they have proper feathers
Endless entertainment

Moonie, Ted needs a leg bell so that he makes a noise, he'll soon get used to it. Those on a collar can be quietened by a clever cat.

Liz, they usually sit either side of the road and call to each other and it is great to hear them singing their hearts away. Then tonight the interloper makes his entrance. Di, I would agree with all you say if it was just the two of them, but the third one is causing grief and they take turns trying to give him (it is a him) a nasty peck.

Ours are often noisy as well, but we've noticed that for some reason, they are at their noisiest a few hours before rain sets in.

When they're going at it hammer and tongues from the rooftops around us, we now say "listen, they're off broadcasting the weather forecast"!

We rarely get any visiting birds here, I suppose we're too close to the woods for them to need to come into a garden.

My parents have a cheeky robin who visits regularly through the day though, he hopped in through the kitchen door the other day while Mom was making dinner

We have some cheeky magpies who visit regularly - They've nearly come a cropper with Fraggs, but he's not quite fast enough

You 'know' our horrible neighbour at our old house? Well every year he used to somehow find a baby bird, he reckoned he'd always found them on a path whilst walking the dog through the woods (and I do that three times every day and I've never found one), and would bring it home to hand rear. One year he 'found' a baby magpie and when it was time to let it go, it wouldn't leave the area and decided that it was going to make itself at home IN our house. It was late Spring so the doors and windows would often be open and every day for weeks I'd find this flippin' magpie in the kitchen or dining room, the mess it made every time was horrible. Thinking about it, that may have been the start of the problems with him as I went round and told him that he'd got to do something about getting rid of it.
