Goodness, the weather where my mom lives is scary

they had major storms last night in the county where she lives - Nordrhein Westfalen - which (from what I gather speaking to her earlier this evening) left 6 people dead and huge swathes of damage, esp in the Düsseldorf region. Just looking at the forecast and they're expecting more severe weather including hail with hailstones up to 5cm big

Thankfully mom is cautious enough to not take risks and cancelled whatever plans she had this evening so I know she will be safe in her flat but still - it's a worry

Just saw that one the news Meriad - sounds really bad. We're all having a rubbish time, weather wise at the moment.

Thanks Ton... thankfully we both know that she'll be safe in her flat, but still - it's a worry and I'll be glad when it's all over because I know she doesn't like storms and no doubt won't be getting much sleep tonight
