I really dislike summer

I can't have the back door open as the sound of next doors kid kicking his football, constantly hour after hour after hour against the fence drives me potty and now the whole of my upstairs stinks of cheap burgers thanks to their bbq underneath Luke's open bedroom window. Luke is actually coughing it is that smokey in there. The washing I have just brought in stinks too.

We have some old wooden garden furniture to burn, wonder how long it would take them to complain if we had a bonfire?

:(
It's a shame when you can't enjoy your own garden.

Oh Shell :(
I can sympathise to a certain extent. Next door both smoke - a lot - and whatever the weather they smoke outside on the patio (they've got a little wooden gazebo type of thing on there for bad weather would you believe!) so when we have our windows open the smell of cigarette smoke drifts into the house depending on which way the wind blows. It's okay for them as they never have a window open, not even in last year's hot temps.

That's horrid Shell. I'm lucky in that both my front and back garden are large and private enough for me to sit in if I want to. I have one neighbour who is a carpenter and last year it seemed that there was a huge bonfire at least 4 nights in the week which just stank out the neighbourhood; but I suspect someone must have complained because he hasn't had one for some time.

Have you had a word with the neighbour about the ball kicking Shell? :( :( :(

When the young ones are out playing on the green at the back it doesn't bother me at all, they are having fun and are safe.

People using charcoal to turn other things into more charcoal drive me mad. The stench gets everywhere, and that stuff they now use to light their BBQs is the absolute worst smell of the lot.

Aaaargggghhhh, yes!

We had three footballs over the fence on Saturday, that's about 10 so far this summer, and it's driving me close to homicidal, as there's absolutely nothing you can do about it. If you don't return them it's theft, if you stick a large dagger in them, it's destruction of property. Nor do we want to encourage the chav neighbours to come round and collect them. I spotted the chav youngsters trying to get over our fence last year and advised them (in extremely nautical language that would even have had WM blushing :o ) that I'd 'ave 'em for trespass if they did.

Am seriously contemplating getting a quote for the erection of netting above the fence, extending it's height from 8' to at least 12' .......
