Cal's husband M. rang me late tonight and we spoke for about half an hour.
He said that she is still very ill indeed, having lost two stone in weight. She has tubes of all kinds going into all places including one straight into her kidney. Basically they are building her up in order to eventually operate. She had an MRI scan this afternoon and M. was allowed to sit with her and hold her hand. He gets to the hospital every morning and is there when she wakes up he said, and is allowed to stay right up until ten at night so she has his support all day. Some of her family have visited too.
I thanked him very much for ringing and sent all our love and good wishes again. I have arranged to ring him late one night next week for an update. Poor man, he was obviously so worried and had so much to say. It must be so hard for him to keep going and to maintain a fairly cheerful air about him despite his worry.
