do you keep boxes full of stuff
cards sentimentill things
i used to have loads of cards from my 21st even( 50 years ago)
then i chucked everything out a few years ago
and now all iv kept is a box of photos really

I have one Memories Box for the very special things, but try not to keep too much stuff now. We had a major declutter recently when we redecorated, refurnished and recarpeted our lounge and dining room. I got rid of loads of stuff to the hospice charity shop. It was a good feeling.

I Regularly give to charity shops, my super three pice suite to Forces shop, so comfortable but too heavy to move around, so q
I bought a regency three piece "uncomfortable, the dog has taken over the settee". I do subscribe to wonderful Air Ambulance and of course St Michaels Hospice. However I find pots and pans,anything to do with cooking. electrical equipment etc etc irresistible
Plastic containers. ( now I am revealing my true self cupboards full of china, I washed 60 plus crystal antique glasses
The other day. Big ones, small ones, delicate ones, brandy glasses crazy.
Boxes? I have a garage full of them. I would go overseas with three or four suitcases and would return with seven cubic meters i cannot get into my dining room, I have just bought a massive filing cabinet to put all my papers etc in. That will make more space. I AM A NIGHTMARE . Compulsive. Irresponsible. The children have threatened to get The Hoarders crew in. not funny!!!
Or as an alternative to have me sectioned

Moving about a lot when in the RAF taught me to be a minimalist.

I often have clear-outs to get rid of the things I thought at the time would be good to keep, but then never got used again. The only cluttered space is my desk. No matter how hard I have tried I have never mastered the art of a tidy desk.

Kate, I gave hundreds of glasses, ornaments and dishes to the charity shop recently. I now have much more space. We just didn't need all that stuff.

No, I don't hoard. When Bb and I cleared some boxes the other week we kept one decent box as a sort of memory box for us.
I still have a lot of photos to organise. I ditched a lot but what's left needs going into albums I guess.
Kate a massive filing cabinet will take up space not make it I'm sure you've already been told what you should have done was sort the paperwork out and get rid of what you don't actually need - that would make space

Washing all those glasses?- crazy indeed
Your lovely stuff is probably worth a fair bit though, you could make a nice lot at auction

A mixture of both. We regularly de-clutter by giving clothes and small items to the local hospice shop, books we've bought get donated to the local library, and they know me by sight at the local council tip.

But that said, in the garage, I have a complete set of the monthly "Railway Observer" magazine from 1937 to date which I've managed to acquire over the years ......

I should not laugh, you are all right. I truly give stuff away regularly
Sadly almost everything apart from the latest has a memory.
The filing cabinet will not take up as much room
as the disorganised pile of papers and stuff that will go in it.
I found a wonderful bargain in a little antique shop last week. a food trolley
Gus my daughter blew her top. It is beautiful, two hand carved rosewood trays
Really old with two wheels on the front and tiny ones on the back
To push it into the dining room "when" and if I give a dinner party.

Then I moved and it All went to friends And I didn't replace anything
It was full of glasses royal stuff a nightmare to keep clean
