That baby sitting request

for the child I've neber met, who didn't speak English.

She's since told me that they just wanted to go out and as the child is no problem, she didn't think I'd mind, just popping down for a few hours

But in the end, as no-one wanted to look after a child they'd never met - just how many people did she ask? - they had to stay in.

Well, what a shame

I'm still gobsmacked

I don't think it is right to ask someone to baby-sit for a baby they have never seen.

I would certainly never agree to do so.

I wonder how often they've done this before and succeeded in finding someone? I do feel for the child, I really do :(

Cheek but I do not think I would have dismissed such a request out of hand. Dependent on my impression of them, knowing where they lived and the reason for their request, also that I was not busy. I like to think of myself as a Christian though not a religious nut by any means, whoever Jesus was he must have been very special to be revered for so many years and I expect my reaction to the request would be what would he have done in those circumstances.
