This is a first!

Over the last year or so, I've put a few different things up on ebay, with a complete lack of success.

Recently I was clearing out my wardrobe and at the back of one of the shelves found a little bag full of different coins which had been my father's - had totally forgotten I had them. So a week ago last Friday, I sat down, researched some of them very carefully, looked at how they were entered on ebay, and put up a Victorian shilling, a Victorian crown and four Kennedy half dollars. The shilling sold for €30, the crown for €21.50 and the half dollars for €12.50 :o :o It's been fun watching them and this morning I've been busy wrapping them carefully and am just off to the post office to post them now - that's a few bob that will come in handy ;) There are a few more coins left, so I might have a go with them as well

Well done Rosie, it must make you feel pretty good when that happens. :D :D :D

But.....

I don't "get" eBay. I want a new TV and found just the job on eBay - right screen size, features etc. I did a quick look round the Internet to see what sort of price I would pay, and put in a cheeky bid, as you do. The auction ends this evening and the bids are already near to the Internet price, and that's before the £12 postage is added.

I have just been back to the "store" and the version on offer is the new one with all mod cons - Samsung. Guess where my money is going? :)

Oh well done.

I've never used e-bay either - and when we move (if ;) ) we have a lot of stuff to get rid of.

Oh well done Osc, I remember you said you hadn't managed to sell anything before :)
I guess collectors stuff would be instantly popular.

Brilliant result Osc!

Joe was happy last week as he wanted to sell his old iPod and said that a friend had said that if he wanted to sell it he'd buy it for £30. I suggested he tried selling it on Ebay first, having looked at the prices they were selling for, so we listed it and he got £77 for it!
