Oh how I laughed. NOT!!!

I mentioned on the morning thread that I had lost my purse.

This morning has been a nightmare. I knew that I had put it in the boot of the car along with the shopping yesterday after our visit to Iceland (the shop, not the country) and that was the last time I could confidently remember having it.

This morning, I came to get L's dinner money out of it and couldn't find it. Have you seen it I asked Mick and the girls. No they all replied. So I turned the house upside down looking for it. Turned the car upside down looking for it. Turned the house upside again looking for it and then emptied the whole car out. Still no sign of it. I rang Mick (I couldn't remember if he had been home when I realised it was missing). Have you seen my purse I says. No, says he and goes on to have a go at me about being so careless.

I go to work. I ring the police - no, nothing has been handed in. I ring the Building Society. We cant issue a new card for this account, we would need to close it and open a new account and you would have to transfer any direct debits (I have my tax credits and child benefit paid into it) so instead they put a stop on it to give me chance to see if I can find it. If I can't then I have the hassle of transferring all my payments. If I find it then I need to go into the bank with my passport to remove the stop on it.

I ring the TSB and report my card lost. They are sending me a new one.

I go online to my Nat West account to transfer the money in there into Mick's account so I can at least access my money until a new card comes. I am in such a tizz I put my online banking details in incorrectly and end up being temporarily locked out of my account. The only way to unlock it is to enter the details of my debit card. I don't have my debit card!!!

I ring the Nat West and cancel my credit card, my debit card and the girls debit cards which were also in my purse. They should be with me in 3 days so should be here for our holiday. As I'm on the phone (at work) I notice Mick's number flash up on my screen to say he's calling.

I finish cancelling my card. Phew. All cards cancelled. Mick rings back.

He took my purse to work with him by accident thinking it was his wallet. He took his wallet too.

I can't "uncancel" any of my cards so have to wait for the new ones to come. I have been into the Building Society, after spending ages looking for my passport, to take the block off that card - it will take a couple of days as they put an alert out for ATM's - if I use it too soon the ATM will swallow my card.

Oooooooooooooh heck! Someone is going to be in HUGE trouble :o :o :o

Glad you've found it but it's caused such a bloody load of inconvenience hasn't it?!
And that's crazy that the building society have to close the account rather than just issue a new card

Vodka

More chocolates

Oh Debih that made me gasp!!! I would throttle him - how can you mistake a purse for a wallet? :?

All of that stress and worry........................... :? :? :(

That is bizarre about the Building Society account - what a funny way to do business

Imagine his reaction if you throw your arms around him, give him a big smacker, and thank him for looking after your purse. 8-) ;)

Debih - I know it's naughty of me, but I couldn't laughing when I read your opening post.

It would make a script for a comedy TV show.

I'm looking forward to the next installment.
