The barrack-room lawyers are at the door ....

Mrs O has given up "bikkits" for Lent. However, I have never seen such a tight definition of a biscuit in all my life, and as soon as I raise a query, out come the fine legal arguments ...

A "bar" is not a "bikkit" - so we are allowed caramel bars, and oat bars ....

A "cookie" is not a "bikkit" - so we are allowed stem ginger cookies ....

A "cracker" is not a "bikkit" - so we are allowed cheese biscuits on the grounds they are not biscuits but crackers (not the only thing that's crackers in this household) ....

A "biscotti" is not a "bikkit" - because that's what it says on the packet, biscotti, read it, dumbo!

A "rich tea bikkit" is not a "bikkit" - because who in their right minds would give up rich tea biscuits for Lent?

I've given up .....

So what have you given up - for Lent, that is ?

I gave up giving up anything ages ago. I have less will power than a gnat at the best of times

Tom has given up chocolate. It's a good thing as he can easily get through a whole bar - and I'm talking a 200g bar - at one sitting :o

But he's finding it harder than it looks, as there is chocolate in many things

I've not given up anything. Oh and Ossie, a biscuit is a biscuit when it is in the tin marked Biscuits :)

I don't believe in giving anything up, but I do believe in moderation in all things.
Mrs A is the same.

That means that that very little is banned, but a bag of naughties will last us a week.
