I think I have almost everything he recorded either on LP or cassette and video and a couple of cd's
he was one of my fovourites so was Jim Reeves and WaylonJennings and Hank Snow ,Marty Robbins I have loads of all their stuff then there are all the girl singers in C&W got hundreds of LPs stored away.
My first love was C&W next is big band and the Irish showband music, but to be honest I love all music even opera and classical, probably comes along with me Playing the piano then organ and keyboards.
Been 30 odd years now sice I used to play in clubs and hotels and now rarely play at all even though I have a £15,000 organ in my front room it is rarely used due to arthritis in my fingers.

I at times wonder "if" I could go back 40 years I might do a few things differently.

I like his early stuff very much. FiL took my favourite JC cd and it's vanished!

Not a die-hard fan, must admit - but the one stand-out track I really love is "Ring of Fire" .......

I do like C&W generally but more "mountain music" orientated - Alabama, Clay Walker, Ozark Mountain Daredevils ......

I love Johnny Cash - when you go to the Country Music Hall of Fame in Nashville, you can see that he is absolutely the king of country. I was chatting once to a gig organiser here in Dublin who once went to Nashville to interview Johnny Cash - he actually stayed in the hotel we stayed in and JC was to collect him to bring him to his house. He said he was sitting in the lobby waiting for him when the place went silent - he looked up and JC was standing in the lobby, your actual man in black, with the most amazing commanding presence. He said it was quite extraordinary.

Not a fan, but sorry to hear that Manxie cannot now play along.

It must be difficult to hear music that you love and not be able to take part. Listening in is not quite the same.
