Had a lovely night away with Miss Osc. Our hotel (a Hilton) was only steps away from the railway station in Belfast and our room was ready when we got there. We changed and headed out to the shops - on the way we passed a big indoor market that she had been told about recently, so we pottered around in there, lots and lots of food stalls and other stuff. Then we carried on to the main shopping area and mooched around there. Our table was booked for 5.30 and we had a delicious seafood meal and decided to walk back to the Waterfront Hall for the show (Waterfront just beside our hotel). It was raining when we came out of the restaurant but we decided to walk anyway - got wet but it didn't matter. Then we went to the show, the dancing was amazing, Brendan Cole is such a beautiful dancer and Aliona Vilani was terrific too.
After the show we decided to hang around the stage door, as Brendan has a reputation for being good at coming to talk to people. We were waiting for ages, and staff were telling us and the few others waiting as well that they were gone on their way to Dublin, but eventually Aliona came out, she was really lovely and readily posed for photos. She said she didn't know where Brendan was and then she went back inside. Shortly afterwards, Brendan appeared, he was soooooo nice and posed for lots of photos, even though he was under pressure to get moving. Then after he got a phone call telling him to hurry, he ran off looking for his bus, ran past the door of our hotel and out on to another road - only to reappear seconds later heading back towards the Waterfront!! We had visions of him running all around Belfast not being able to find the bus, but he has posted from Dublin on Twitter
We were up fairly early for our 10am train this morning but eveything went well timewise and we were back home just after 1pm. I was really tired and ended up having a long sleep in my chair Michael will be arriving soon to stay the night
