That was a wasted morning.

Arrived at fracture clinic. Very impressed as pretty much straight in.

It's not fractured. No extra bones. Just jarred. Sent off to get special insoles fitted to help ease the pain. Come back in 6 weeks for check up.

Off to physio department. Straight in to see someone for fitting for instep things. Very technical - foot on opiece of plain white paper. Draw round it. Repeat with other foot. Right says the fitting man - I need to make them up and get you back in to have them fitted. First possible appointment is end of March.

She's in pain now - that's the reason for the insoles says I. I think the end of March might be too late. Right, says he. What about next Tuesday. Ring to cancel the fitting if the pain has gone.

But at least I was back in time for lunch with the laydeez. And very nice it was too.

Berlimey

I had things like that Debih - they were hard, rigid plastic things that fitted over the heel, to make my instep higher - apparently.

All they did was give me blisters

She only needs them while the foot is hurting her from whatever it is that she has done.

Sod's law the foot will be fine by Tuesday.

End of March to next Tuesday..... that's one helluva concertina.

Debih, have you thought about seeing a podiatrist for advice? I used to wear a hard boot for a torn Achilles tendon - caused all sorts of problems. The podiatrist put me on to some gel filled ankle supports - expensive, but they worked and allowed me to be "normal" and do away with the boot and crutches.

Amazing how that appointment came up so quickly!

Joe had to see a physio a few years ago because his ankle ligaments weren't growing at the same rate as his bones so he needed some stretching exercises - he was prescribed a daily half hour on the Wii Fit board and told which games to play off the Wii Fit disc

That sounds a good idea Debih, after all feet are quite important :)

Becky had special insoles for a good while as her feet are also very flat - we were lucky though as one of her uncles (Martin's brother) is a chiropodist and he got them made for her for nothing. They did help 8-) :)
