Tablets

I know quite a few of you have one. If you do, what make and what size (screen wise) do you have and what is your feedback on it?

I'm thinking of getting myself one, but it's a minefield out there. Karl and Nadine had a Nexus and they were really pleased with it (well they still have it, but it was dropped so the screen is broken and needs to be replaced). Whatever I gt will be for home only so won't need any form of 3G or anything and I don't think it'll need an overly large memory as I'm mainly looking to access the internet with it - maybe download one or two apps. Ideally I think I'd like a 10" but Nadine (my SIL) said that the 7" Nexus they have was more than adequate, but if I'm reading on the internet, won't the 10" be just that bit better?

So just wondering what you think of yours - if you have one.

Our samsung Galaxy tab2 10.1" is lovely :)
We've had it over a year (since our pc died just before that Christmas) and Bb uses it more than this desktop.

I agree about the size, especially for home. I got the kindle hdx which is 7" so that I'd be able to take it out with me if wanted and it's fine and lovely too, but for at home 10" is much better - and still not too heavy :)
The galaxy was reckoned to be the best at the time (happy coincidence, we didn't have the chance to do any research) but not sure what is now for that size.
It's a good idea to go to Currys/whatever where they have them all on display and you can have a go :)

I bought myself a 7" Nexus at the end of 2012 but ended up giving it to Becky as I couldn't get on with it. I probably should have persevered, although the 10" would most likely have been a better buy for me  Too late now, can't afford one at the moment

I have thought about getting one as well, but my daughter has dissuaded me.....she doesn't see the point in getting one if it's 'only' to replace the laptop, she reckons I won't like the touch screen keyboard (she's right) and tbh the laptop is fine for my needs.

So she's saved me some cash ;)

Mick has a kindle fire, the girls have nexus and I have an iPad mini for personal use and a samsung for adoption panel.

The iPad mini wins by a mile. Then the samsung, then the kindle fire, then the nexus.

Thanks all :D

Di, I definitely will be going to a store to get a feel for the different tablets; there are some good deals on 7" ones so I need to have a good look / see and figure out what I want when it comes to sreen size. I'm not sure I want to go down the iPad route; not only because of cost, but also because my mobile is an adroid (Samsumg) and I think it may may more sense to stick with an Android Tablet because I'll know how it works and any apps that I end up buying I can at least use on both ? right? :? :? :?

Debih; you're the total opposite of Karl and Nadine - they prefer the Nexus to the iPad
