My mum's old Singer is still going strong after 60 odd years

Yes......me!

Can I cheat a wee bit and mention my mum's Kenwood food mixer - it's still working perfectly after 54 years.

Apart from Grumpy at 66.................

I have a food processor that we bought before we got married, so it's about 34 years old and, according to Julia, better than the one she has, which is new.

A Norwegian friend said that she didn't realise things like that lasted that long no doubt they change them every 2 years, like their cars

My well-used hand-held mixer (Kenwood) was a wedding present in 1981
And the 'proper' Kenwood mixer is still going well after about 30 years

I have a small Pifco (non-steam) iron from about 1971. It has an L shaped handle with the lead coming out of the rear - an ambidextrous iron. For a left-hander it was a breeze to use.

Was it Pifco that made that contraption that was like a mobile shower cap that ladies used after they'd washed and put rollers in their hair?

Thus enabling their hair to be dried as they went about their normal business.

ETA oh it is!! I've just googled it.

Obviously a "must have" in some households.

i had one of those dryers it was still going stronge when i chucked it out years ago
i got and still use a pink glass trifle dish /and little dishes that was a wedding present of my mums 73 years ago
and dressing table set
also alot of my 21 st presents tea spoons fluted fruit spoon set plate stands
and more from 1963

We have a hostess trolley that we inherited from Mrs O's side of the family and must be well over 30 years old ..... still very much in use.

Most of our dark wood furniture (Stag) must be 35 years!
