Gladys is here to stay ;)

We got to the hospital in plenty of time for the 12.00 appointment and at 1.20    I was called in. they did the endo thingy - I was able to watch on the tele and it was a lot better than last time I looked

Gave me a report, to give to Dr DF and went up to the ward, where I interrupted his lunch  well, it was gone 2.00 ;) The report gave the measurement of the stump and also that it was clean, healthy, no lesions and no blood :D

He said that the stump is too small to be re-attached.

So that's that then.

Just a point, why wasn't it mentioned in the file that they must have done after the op?

Andf I've now got a sore bum    It's not used to being manhandled any more

I am sorry Ton, but as Kaz says - at least now you know where you stand and you can look to the future without wondering. And, not being flippent' but you have shared some fun Gladys stories - she's part of VV ;)

(((hug)))

The main thing is that Stumpy is healthy, so no health concerns. Shame that you will always have Gladys, but you will carry on with a smile on your face as you always do :D xxx

You must be disappointed, Ton - not sure how much expectation you had that it could be possible to remove Gladys, but even if it was only a little bit, I'm sure you feel a bit down about it. But I've always admired your attitude and sense of fun, and hopefully now that you know for sure, your sense of humour won't let you down xxx

Thank you all xx

Although I was sort of hoping that the op could be done, in the back of my mind was

a) I dislike operations
b) did I really want to use a loo "normally" and possibly up to 6 or more times a day
c) I really don't like operations/hospitals

But the most important thing was that I was pretty sure that Stumpy (thanks Loz, that made me laugh   ) was only going to be very small, as the UC was at it's most active and worst at the bum end, rather than further up.

So I'm now going out to spend a lot of money on clothes that have elasticated waists and stuff like that - I may well look like an aging hippy, but I really won't care :D :D I'll be comfy :D :D

And re-reading the report, there also may be a further op - to actually remove Stumpy altogether, but that's waaaay in the future and I'm not worrying yet :D :D
