Evening all!

Got back from Blackpool on Sunday evening after a terrific weekend - kn*ackered of course At least we got to bed by 1am on Saturday night/Sunday morning unlike some of our friends who crawled back to the b&b near enough to 4am! Our landlady was brilliant, she pushed back breakfast on both mornings to fit in with what we were doing and didn't mind the noise we made Actually the man who comes in to help with the rooms said it was lovely to have the place full and hear people enjoying themselves. Mr. Osc and myself have been going there for six years, so are good friends with the landlady and her hubby, and I'm always delighted when we're able to fill the place for them - they are both over 70 and have been trying to get out of the business for a couple of years but of course, can't sell because no one is buying Blackpool b&bs. Before we left on Sunday, we booked her out again for our ballroomdancematters trip in April. We had a brilliant weekend, the Winter Gardens is amazing and one of the couples with us came 2nd in their category which was terrific, they were absolutely thrilled and really deserved it. Two other couples came 3rd in their comps, and a young couple won the Junior Latin 5 dance - had great fun waving our flag and cheering like mad!
I have a code in by dose, think it was starting before we went but one of our friends has a dreadful cold and if I didn't have one before we went, I would have it by now anyway, especially as we shared a car to and from Liverpool Airport. Oh by the way, if you ever ever see me even look at a Burger King again, shoot me! We wanted to eat in Frankie and Bennie's at the airport on the way home but there was no sense of urgency with their staff and we felt we would not get our food in time for our flight, so everyone headed for Burger King. I had a Chicken Royal - pale coloured cardboard covered in tan coloured synthetic fabric with a smear of something white and nasty, a few bits of lettuce and all encased in a roll with the consistency of cotton wool, all completely flavourless and it laid in my stomach like a stone.
Spent yesterday unpacking and doing other stuff, today I slept quite late and did loads of work around the house plus the supermarket shop, plus we watched a nice soppy film this afternoon because it was such a miserable day. Hope everyone has been having a good day! Happy Birthday to Di, and well done to our Loz who is doing brilliant things with Hearing Link - just imagine, when she gets Damehood from the Queen, we will all be able to say we knew her!!
