When honesty doesn't pay

I went to town today to find a birthday present for my friends 50th. I had no idea what to get her but her daughter suggested stud earrings. The jewellery shops were half empty due to the sales but I finally saw a pair I thought she would like for £32.99 which was a bit more than I want to spend, but they were nice. The assistant wrapped them and then said "oh I can't remember which slot they came out of, was it that one" pointing to an empty slot with the price £25.99. For a second I was tempted but I thought, no, if she wants to bring them back that would be embarrassing, so I was honest and said no they were in that slot £32.99.

Except tonight, I found a link to show her daughter and guess what?????? They are £25.99 they had obviously been put back in the wrong slot. To be frank £25 was my budget so that would have been perfect, but I was desperate and they were nice. I wouldn't mind spending the £32.99 but not sure I want to spend £7.00 on fresh air.

So do you think if I took them back they would allow me to re-buy them at the proper price?

Take them back and explain. I'm sure they'll give you the fresh air money back x Well, I would hope they would :D

Yes, take them back and ask if you've been overcharged seeing as they're £7 cheaper online!

Yes, take them back - that assistant should have checked the price properly! Her mistake should not be costing you money :? ;)

My daughter saw a purse lying on the roadside when we were returning home from Christmas shopping. We turned the car round went and picked it up." It was full of credit cards"and had money around £60 in it. To our amazement we discovered it belonged to a local farmers daughter whose mother is a nasty piece of work who has been very spiteful to my daughter who has a court case ensuing against the now wealthy family regarding the run down property she is living in left to her by her late partner.
The daughter grudgingly arrived at the property to collect the purse, she was not particularly pleasant but did
Grudgingly state her faith in human nature had been restored. Two days later she came to the shop now run by the family of my daughters partner started by my daughter to get
and her partner to get his mind off of the cancer he was suffering with.
My daughter was in the garden and the woman who had her purse returned and her mother arrived at the shop totally ignoring my daughter.
The family are the most vindictive greedy spiteful individuals I have ever had the misfortune to come across. They have reduced my daughter to a wreck emotionally, they have poisoned the village against her as they
Want her out. My faith in human nature has been severely damaged. My daughter is the kindest
Most honest individual ever, she is ill with severe breathing problems due to the viscous greed of her late partners ex and two children all have mental health problems whom she counselled, the son a drug addict and alcoholic, the mother
With a reputation and the daughter Who is the most vindictive individual I have ever come across, they abused my
Daughters kindness.. Pays to be honest? I am wondering, the ones who have lied, cheated, created misery are the ones
Who are succeeding creating misery for my daughter. My faith in human nature is truly fractured and it will take a lot to repair it.
