Attempted brisket of beef onna bed of onions for tonight's dinner. Happily placed the joint 'n chopped onions in the oven and set it to 200.
Trouble was, I forgot to check how it was progressing until it was ready .... and the bed of onions were totally black and caramelised!
I think Mrs O had said put a little bit of water in the bottom of the roasting dish - she meant up to 1/4 pint, but I took "a little bit" as being 1/2 an eggcup full !
Ah well. The meat was lovely ......
